Brief Introduction to the Project:

At present, as one of the hottest research topics in decades, environmental friendly and economical asymmetric methodology of organic synthesis has attracted the most attention of organic chemists. This project has developed a series of economic and environmental friendly catalytic strategies for the efficient construction of chiral secondary alcohols and propargylic alcohols. The reaction mechanism had been clearly studied and clarified. Efforts had been made to significantly reduce the catalyst loading and broaden the application of the developed protocols. Heterogeneous chiral catalytic system, which displayed better enantioselectivtiy comparing with their homogeneous analogue, has also been developed for catalyst recycling. Furthermore, we also applied these methods for the synthesis of precursors for chiral drugs, unnatural amino acids and peptide drugs. Based on this project, five national invention patents have been authorized and a series of highly influential scientific papers have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
