On the night of Feburary 13th, the show tour delivered by LZU Students’ Art Group was held in the Theater of Albert University for Canadian Confucius Institution in Edmonton. Bridget Stirring, the member of Edmonton Education Bureau, Thomas Deng, the senator of Alberta, and the vice consul-general of Chinese Embassy in Calgary Wang Lei presented in the activity.

Through the performance, the audience experienced the combination of flexibility and firmness in Chinese Kung Fu, the talent of singing and dancing of Chinese minority, the charm of traditional culture as well as the energy of Chinese undergraduates.

There was a common subject--communication and corporation in the speeches delivered by Chinese and foreign honored guests. This subject expressed the hope to work together and to strengthen the connection between two countries as well as between LZU and Canadian universities and educational institutions. Thereupon, this tour was not only the communication of culture and art, but also the sympathy of emotion and spirit. Both sides expected that they could promote the connection and communication through this tour, creating opportunities and conditions for bilateral corporation and  friendly exchanges.

On February 14th, the group went to another three Confucius Classrooms established by Edmonton Confucius Institution respectively in Rosslyn Junior High School, Edith Rogers Junior High School and McNally High School, performing Lion & Dragon Dancing.

The show in Edmonton won a good reputation and extensive attention in local. The words like Confucius Institute Headquarters/ Hanban, Lanzhou University, Chinese Culture and Kong Fu became the buzzwords. The audience wished that the high-level performance would come to Canada again.

After the performance, Cao Hong, the group’s head and vice president of LZU accepted the special report of the local media The Chinese Journal.
