Lanzhou University authorities meet with chairman of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council

LZU president Yan Chunhua met with Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) delegation headed by its chairman Prof. Yusuf Zafar at VIP room in Yifu Scientific Building on May 21st. Vice President An’ Lizhe and staffs from International Cooperation and Exchange Office and School of Life Sciences, LZU also attended this meeting.

President Yan welcomed Prof. Yusuf Zafar’s visit. He said LZU would spare no efforts to support the development of China-Pakistan Biomass Energy Joint Laboratory and hope both sides could extend teachers’ exchanges based on current students’ exchanges to strive for support from governments under the Belt & Road Initiatives. Yan also mentioned that LZU would continue to attract more students from countries along the Belt & Road including Pakistan to study in LZU and hope two sides could enhance the mutual benefit and trust in education during the cooperation.

Prof. Yusuf Zafar looked back cooperative foundation with LZU and expressed that LZU is an important partner of Pakistan. The first phase of joint laboratory construction has been finished, which played a leading and exemplary role for the cooperation with other countries along the Belt & Road. Thus, he said the PARC would deepen the cooperation with LZU in fields such as biomass energy and food safety, and support LZU in conducting cooperation with the relevant universities in Pakistan.
