Director of National Museum of China visits Lanzhou University

On the morning of August 26th, Wang Chunfa, the director of National Museum of China as well as the alumnus who graduated from the Department of Hstory of Lanzhou University in 1981, came to LZU to research the work of cultural relics protection, and had a discussion with representatives of LZU on the cooperation in Room 302 of the Science Museum. Chen Chengjun, deputy director of the National Museum, Chen Li, director of the executive office of the Museum, Dai Zijia, director of the Gansu Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, Yan Chunhua, president of Lanzhou University, and Pan Baotian, vice president, attended the meeting.

Pan Baotian first introduced the history, scientific research and the progress of “Double-First Class” construction of Lanzhou University, and expressed his gratitude and expectation to the National Museum on the issues of the cooperation with Lanzhou University.

Wang Chunfa said that his visit is mainly to understand the development of the majors and disciplines that related to cultural relics protection of Lanzhou University, and to discuss further cooperation between Lanzhou University and National Museum on matters concerning cultural relic protection in the northwest China. The National Museum will actively cooperate with Lanzhou University by signing cooperation agreements, building cooperative research institutions, and organizing academic forums.

Yan Chunhua expressed his approval and gratitude for the cooperative proposal. He emphasized that this survey is to set an example for the relevant majors of LZU such as relics protection and museology. Lanzhou University, which is about to celebrate its 110th anniversary, needs to uphold its tradition and accumulation to promote regional characteristics. He sincerely hoped that the National Museum and Lanzhou University will form a concrete and feasible "Museum-University Strategic Cooperation Framework" covering varied aspects.
