Lanzhou University holds summer camp for its alumnus’ kids

In the afternoon of July 29th, LZU held the closing ceremony of the summer camp for the children of LZU’s alumnus and the status meeting -- “Yesterday in memory and today in sight”. Yuan Zhanting, the Party secretary of LZU, Li Zhengyuan, the vice Party secretary, and Fan Baojun, the assistant principal, attended the ceremony. Besides, more than 200 people were present, including responsible persons of relevant departments in LZU, alumnus, parents and camp members.

Yuan Zhanting firstly welcomed all camp members and expressed his sincere bliss. Yuan also extended the heart-felt gratitude to the active support and constructive suggestion of the alumnus, as well as his appreciation to all the staffs who have committed themselves in this summer camp. He hoped that all camp members could appreciate the time-honored history, rigorous style of study and unique culture atmosphere of LZU during the seven-day activities, and further love and yearn for LZU while passing down the great tradition of it. Meanwhile, Yuan also hoped that this activity could evolve to be a brand of LZU, which helps to accumulate the wisdom of all alumnus, teachers and students to boost the healthy growth of “the second generation of LZU graduates”.

During this one-week activity, the camp members enjoyed the beautiful flower ocean, practiced some classic experiments, relived the Red Journey, experienced the Yellow River cruise, learned to sing folk songs, visited the teachers of their parents, felt the history of Gansu province, understood and experienced the campus life of their parents, and traced the footprint of their parents’ school years. In this process, they have felt the rich culture atmosphere of LZU and appreciated the unique local customs of northwest China.
