School of Public Health funded by NIH

A few days ago,the research program on“Air Pollution - Children 's Health GEO Health Hub in China” by Prof. Niu Jingping’s team from the School of Public Health at Lanzhou University was funded by the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH). The program belongs to the Hub of Interdisciplinary Research and Training in Global Environmental and Occupational Health,GEO Health Hub co-applied by the School of Public Health at Lanzhou University and the School of Medicine at New York University.

The program aims to promote the solution on environment and occupational health policy problems in various countries and regions and make the environment and occupational health problems become the research center of core sciences such as epidemiology and biostatistics, through the way that low and middle-income countries and a U.S. research institution jointly carry out research programs, personnel training, ability construction, curriculum development and other activities. The program is the phased objectives of Prof Niu’s team and Prof. Qu Qingshan from New York University, and has laid the foundation for the School of Public Health to apply for overseas research center of NIH.
