China Picture Show held in Kazakhstan Museum

 

  

Co-organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Confucius Institute and Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, China Picture Show was held in Kazakhstan National Central Museum on October 22nd, 2012. Du Dewen, the consul-general of Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, Kakabayef, the first deputy director of Kazakhstan Central Museum, and Abuxieyitowa, director of the Orientalism Institute of Kazakhstan Education and Science Department delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Over 100 people from all walks of life in Almaty, Chinese and overseas Chinese, media representatives of China and Kazakhstan attended the ceremony as well.

Du Dewen briefly reviewed the development of the Chinese civilization, especially,the achievements in educational and cultural development after 30 years since China's reform and opening-up in her speech. She pointed out that China is respecting the diversity of the world civilization, and willing to carry out extensive cultural exchange and cooperation with other countries; the cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and China will strongly promote mutual understanding and traditional friendship. She hoped the picture show about China could provide a window for Kazakhstan people to know more about China.

Kakabayef and Abuxieyitowa spoke highly of the important role of Chinese culture in the world civilization development, and hoped the audience, especially the young people, could make a better understanding of their good neighbor through the show.

The picture show will last for two weeks, with a total of more than 60 pictures, mainly reflecting the development achievements of Chinese culture since the 17th National Congress of the CPC.
