Gansu Province launches China exploration at LZU

Hosted by Zhang Xiaodong, director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange in the Department of Education of Gansu Province, the launching ceremony for China Exploration in the division of Gansu Province and the campus orienteering was held at Lanzhou University on the afternoon of March 31st.

At the ceremony, Jing Tao, vice president of LZU said the activity aims at setting up a stage for international students to show themselves, spread the international culture on campus, and promote the friendship between students at home and abroad. Seven teams with runners from LZU, Northwest Normal University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou University of Technology, and Northwest University for Nationalities participated in the campus orienteering. After one and a half hours’ heated competition, Team No. 2 from LZU, Team from Lanzhou University of Technology, and Team No. 1 from LZU took the first, second, and third place respectively.

News Background: Sponsored by the Ministry of Education, undertaken by the FUSC (Federation of University Sports of China) and Sports program of CCTV, supported by education departments of each province and relevant universities, China Exploration is comprised by divisions in different provinces, divisions in 9 bigger area, the final, and the award ceremony, the events including orienteering, three-on-three basketball, sports movement show (individual or group aerobics, cheer aerobics, hip-hop, etc.), traditional items, talent show, and so on. The teams are mainly composed of each university alone and intercollegiate teams with 10 team members in each team, ratio for male and female is 11 and that for international students and Chinese students is 41.
