Major Bob Parker and delegates from Christchurch, New Zealand visit LZU

Major Bob Parker from Christchurch, New Zealand, together with other 6 delegates, visited Lanzhou University on the morning of April 15th. LZU president Zhou Xuhong met with them in the VIP room of Yifu Science Hall, together with vice president Jing Tao, principals of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, and the School of Management.

First, LZU president Zhou introduced the basics, outstanding subjects, school characteristics, and foreign exchange, focusing on the subject development, talent cultivating, faculty construction, and international exchange of the School of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, and the School of Management in recent years. He thought that the two sides have worked out a series of achievements in terms of talent cultivating, scientific research, etc. since Academician Ren Jizhou started the cooperation between LZU and New Zealand, so he hoped they could take this visit as an opportunity to further develop the cooperation and promote the exchange and cooperation in the fields of education, sci-tech, culture and so on.

Then, Major Bob Parker introduced the history of Christchurch, the largest city in South Island and the second international sister-city of Gansu Province, and the basics of the University of Canterbury and Lincoln University located in Christchurch. He recalled that he really appreciated the change and development of LZU in such a few years compared with five years ago. After the meeting, they visited the School of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, and the School of Management, and talked with the principals of these schools.
