LZU students selected by University of Oklahoma for exchange

Recently, at the invitation of the School of Life Sciences and Cuiying Honors College, Prof. Lee R.Krumholz, international senior expert in environmental microbiology from the Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology at the University of Oklahoma, has visited LZU and selected students to US for graduation thesis.

An interview team led by Prof. Krumholz and Prof. Li Xiangkai from the School of Life Sciences at LZU, interviewed the students majoring in biology enrolled in 2010 by Cuiying Honors College in terms of professional knowledge and English language proficiency in order to select part of the students to go to the University of Oklahoma for graduation thesis in their fourth academic year.

Prof. Krumholz made a lecture titled “The microbial degradation of environmental pollutants”, involving the problems on wastewater treatment, the cause of heavy metal pollution and organic pollution, the harm to life, and microbial treatment and degradation at Room No. 814 of Guanyun Building on the morning of May 2nd. Prof. Long Ruijun, executive dean of Cuiying Honors College, Prof. Feng Huyuan, deputy dean of the School of Life Sciences, and all the students majoring in biology from Cuiying Honors College enjoyed the humorous and lively lecture delivered in the simple way.
