Terracotta figurines of women in pastel color

Tang dynasty (AD 618-907)

Two large and two small terracotta figurines of women in the tang dynasty are painted with powder enamel. They are four pieces in total. Their height ranges from 47 cm to 55cm. The four female figures have different styles of buns. Their face are round and beautiful, figure plump but symmetrical, and the expression of the figures is relaxed. Among them, the figurine of women holding dogs is relatively rare among similar terracotta figures with powder enamel. This group of terracotta figurines of women in pastel color reflects the aesthetic taste of fat as beauty in the heyday of Tang dynasty, which is indeed a rare fine art.
