Hu Mengli’s written copy of Chinese Classics Exhibition held in Jishi Library

 

 

On September 10th, the written copy of Chinese Classics Exhibition by Hu Mengli, associate research librarian of Lanzhou University was held in Jishi Library of Tianshui Road Campus. Wang Hansong, secretary-general of the CPC committee of Lanzhou University, enjoyed the exhibitions in the library. Presented the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Li Hengbin, deputy secretary, director of Lanzhou University Calligraphy Institute, and vice president of Gansu Province Calligraphers’ Association, Zhang Wenxuan, professor of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, vice president of Gansu Province Literature and Arts Association, librarian of Gansu Province Research Institute of Culture and History, member of Gansu Province Education Consulting Committee, and former member of Gansu Province People’s Standing Congress, Shang Mo, president of Gansu Province Young Calligraphers’ Association and vice president of Gansu Province Calligraphers’ Association, and about 20 people including principals from the relevant departments and schools of Lanzhou University. The opening ceremony was presided over by Yao Liwen, Party branch secretary of the library.

The exhibition displayed the written copy of the full text of 16 Chinese Classics such as “The Great Learning”, “The Doctrine of the Mean”, “The Confucian Analects”, and “The Works of Mencius” in brush and pen by Hu Mengli during the time at night ever since the summer of 2005, which involves almost one million words in total and lasts altogether nearly one thousand meters in length.
