On November 16th, the Research Team on Draught Agricultural Ecology led by Prof. Xiong Youcai set off again for Kenya to continue implementing the test and demonstration in the second growth season of the program of "China - Kenya Dryland Water-Saving Agricultural Technical Cooperation, Development and Demonstration". The test and demonstration in the first growth season has been completed with accurate scientific data and remarkable progress from April to the end of late September in 2012 after the team struggled with tough conditions, which has been highly appreciated by the cooperation unit in Kenya and the United Nations Environment Programme, etc.
It is reported that the team has arrived at Katumani Test Station in Kenya, and embarked on the relevant work. The team members include PHD students Mo Fei and Wang JianYong, master student Zhou Hong and agricultural technician Xiong Liangbing. Xiong Youcai says the task in the second growth season is a tougher and more demonding job, which may arouse attention of the media and related institutions at home and abroad. Besides, the team represents the image of China, therefore, the team will definitely be confident in overcoming difficulties to collect data and strengthening exchanges and cooperation with Kenya with a brand new look and satisfactory results.
