1st Tashkent Hard-tipped Calligraphy Competition in Commemoration of 120th Anniversary of Guo Moruo Closes

On March 3, the First Hard-tipped Calligraphy Competition held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Guo Moruo, concluded at Confucius Institute in Tashkent. A total of 1030 people who are enthusiastic about Chinese language and culture entered for the competition. They were from Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Confucius Institute in Tashkent, Kyrgyz National University, World Language University, World Economy and Diplomacy University, Middle School Attached to Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, The Fifty-fifth Middle School of Tashkent, China’s National Culture Center and so on.

   The competition consisted of two phases, the preliminary and final contests, drawing to a close, with 9 people winning the third prize, 6 the second prize, 3 the first prize and 1 the grand prize.
Zhang Xiao, Ambassador of China to Uzbekistan, Counselor Nasunbayaer and his wife, Chen Weiwei, Director of Education Council, and Ziyamukhamedov, Dean of the Eastern Languages Department of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, attended the award ceremony and presented the certificates and prizes to the winners.

   It was reported that the Confucius Institute would offer the grand prize winner an opportunity to study Chinese language and culture a year for free.
