Japanese professors visit LZU

 

At the invitation of Center for Studies of Ethnic Minorities in Northwest China of Lanzhou University and Ethnology Institute of Lanzhou University, Prof. Hisao Tomizawa, vice president of University of Shizuoka, Prof. Norio Suzuki and Prof. Zhou Xing from the International Exchange Department of Aichi University visited LZU in terms of academic affairs lately. They made three lectures named “A study on the development of ethnic culture industry”, “A study on ethnic cultural heritage and social development”, and “Dragon Boat Festival and ‘Universal Medicine’ ”, which are warmly received by LZU teachers and students.

Vice president Chen Fahu met with the three professors in Room 202 of Yifu Science Hall on the afternoon of March 5th, with a brief introduction to LZU’s basics, history, and outstanding disciplines, especially for the research findings in Pratacultural Science, Organic Chemistry, Geological Sciences, Ethnology, Dunhuang Studies, Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, etc. He hoped their visit and lectures could promote the extensive intercollegiate cooperation with the two Japanese universities. Both of the two professors expressed their intentions to cooperate with our university and discussed the ways and content of cooperation preliminarily.
