LZU martial arts team visits Georgia
At the invitation of Confucius Institute of Free University of Tbilisi co-constructed by Lanzhou University, the LZU high-level martial arts team with 7 team members went to Georgia to hold the “Sino-Georgia Martial Arts Performance Exchange” with Georgian National Wushu Federation from March 27th to 28th. The LZU martial arts team made 17 excellent performances such as Chinese boxing, instrument fitness, sparring, Sabreplay, swordplay, spear play and cudgel play, etc., which were warmly received by audience; the Martial Arts Association in Georgia performed collective boxing, Tai-chi-quan, hard qi-gong skillfully, showing their love for Chinese martial arts.
In the reply of the interview by CCTV and Rustavi-2 TV, Chinese ambassador Mr. Chen Jianfu said that the performance exchange between China and Georgia will help increase Georgian people’s understanding for Chinese culture and thus enhance the traditional friendship between the two countries. The minister of Georgian Sports and Youngster Affairs Ministry congratulated on the in-depth exchange and terrific performances undertaken by the LZU martial arts team and Georgian National Wushu Federation, and they would like to support the development of martial arts in Georgia. Besides, the LZU team carried out various promotion activities in public and Prof. Li Shaocheng delivered lectures on Chinese martial arts jointly with the spot performances.
