Prof. Enrico Drioli, Chair Professor of the Department of Energy Engineering, Hanyang University, Korea, and Founding Director of the Institute on Membrane Technology visited Cuiying Honors College (CHC) of our university on 23rd July, 2013. With him was also Dr. Lidietta Giorno, Director of the Institute on Membrane Technology.
After a tour of our facilities and listening to a brief presentation about the “Top-notch Undergraduate Training Program”, Prof. Drioli shared his passion for educational reform, talked about opportunities for European funding for research, especially at the postgraduate level, and about the exciting advances, applications and opportunities for groundbreaking research in membrane technology. He highlighted the potential markets for quality wine, olive oil and Chinese medicinal products from Gansu province after using membrane technologies for processes such as extracting, concentration and refining.
Prof. Drioli warmly welcomed students from our program to apply for research programs at the University of Calabria in Italy where the Institute of Membrane Technology is based.
