On the occasion of the Sixth Shaanxi Opera Festival held in Lanzhou on November 13th, the School of International Cultural Exchange at LZU seized this opportunity and invited 80 some foreign students to attend this spectacular performance in People’s Theatre. The opera was Xiaowen Emperor of Wei Dynasty.
What characterizes Shaanxi operas are its nature of simplicity, boldness and exaggeration. Besides, the gorgeous costumes and facial make-ups all left an impression on our students.
This performance enriched our students’ knowledge of Chinese culture, particularly local culture of the West China and infused energy into their campus life in China.
