Consul General Mr. Jun Jae Won from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Xi’an paid a visit to LZU with other five delegates on Nov.12th.
President Wang Cheng met the guests in Yifu Science Hall, accompanied by the heads from the President’s Office, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of International Cultural Exchange.
President Wang Cheng introduced the history, the discipline features and the future plans of LZU. He expressed that, under the promotion of China's Western Development Strategy and of the "Silk Road Economic Zone" strategy, LZU would continue to give full play to the characteristics and advantages of its disciplines and further strengthen the cooperation with Korean and other foreign universities, in a view to making progress in student exchanges and language promotion on both sides.
Consul General Mr. Jun Jae Won expressed his gratitude to Wang Cheng. He said that Lanzhou, a key regional transportation hub on the Silk Road, had become the focus of attention. With an increasing number of Korean enterprises investing in western China, it became one of Consulate General’s goals to strengthen the cooperation with Lanzhou in economy and education. LZU played a vital role in educational cooperation between the two countries, and the Consulate General would provide support for offering Korean language courses in LZU and hoped that joint efforts should be made to strengthen the communication and cooperation between LZU and Korean universities.
During the visit, Consul General Mr. Jun Jae Won also attended Korean Cultural Experience Activities for Chinese and Korean College Students held by LZU.
