Professor Qin Libin and Zhang Jianzhong come to the Confucius Institute in Tashkent

It is believed that calligraphy shows the spirit of Chinese culture and the art serves as a bridge of friendship. Professor Qin Libin, vice-chairman of Chinese Calligrapher Association and famous calligrapher, and Mr. Zhang Jianzhong, deputy director of Creative Research Department of Gansu Academy of Painting and well-known Chinese painter, visited Uzbekistan at the invitation of Confucius Institute co-established by LZU in Tashkent for cultural and artistic exchanges from Dec.2 to Dec.9.

During the visit, Professor Qin Libin and Mr. Zhang Jianzhong delivered many art lectures at Confucius Institute, Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and the high school affiliated to Tashkent State Oriental Institute. They introduced the history, schools, tools, ways of appreciation of Chinese calligraphy and painting as well as the distinction from the western painting art. Art Gallery of Uzbekistan held the painting and calligraphy exhibition for Professor Qin Libin and Zhang Jianzhong on Dec.4 Mr. Yan Hui, the counselor of the Chinese embassy in Uzbekistan and Mr. Ren Yangang, the director of the Propaganda Office of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, came to the exhibition and expressed their congratulations.

The event attracted more than 1500 people. The reporters from Global National TV of Uzbekistan and Cultural and Educational TV Channel of Uzbekistan had an exclusive interview with Qin Libin and Zhang Jianzhong.

It stimulates Uzbekistan students’ interests in learning Chinese and its culture and further improves the influence of Confucius Institute and Chinese culture in Uzbekistan.
