Recently, Dr. Guan Xiaodan from School of Atomospheric Sciences of LZU attended and won the award for best scientific research demonstration on the International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC) jointly held by European Union (EU), World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Brussels. Dr. Ghassem Asrar, the Chairman of WCRP, gave the award. The conference centers on the latest research progress on regional climate change and provides latest scientific evidence for governments’ policymaking. More than 100 scientists from China, England, United states, France, Belgium, Republic of Lithuania, Japan, South Korea, India, Nepal and some other countries attended the four-day conference.
Dr. Guan Xiaodan reported the latest research progress made by Professor Huang Jianping’s research team. The research explores the influence of human activities on semi-arid climate changes and analyzes the mechanism of this process. It was highly praised by other scientists and demonstrates that LZU has already been at the world’s forefront in regional climate change research.
