11 MTCSOL (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) students from the School of Chinese Language and Literature are selected by Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) to serve as volunteer teachers in Thailand, Philippines and Nepal. This is the first time for MTCSOL Students of LZU to work as Chinese teaching volunteers in Southeast Asia.
Among the 11 students, 8 will be dispatched to Thailand, 2 to Philippines and 1 to Nepal. The selected students went to Beijing, Tianjin and Xiamen for two-month training on Feb.16. Till now, a total of 22 MTCSOL students are selected as overseas Confucius Institute volunteers, accounting for 34.38% of all MTCSOL students in Grade 2013. It is a good beginning as well as an opportunity for the development and improvement of MTCSOL students.
