The initiation meeting for Major Research Instrumentation Program “6.0E12 n/s Intense Neutron Generator and Fast Neutron Measurement System Research” was held in Xijiao Hotel Beijing on March 14. A total of 18 people, including the heads from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the experts in the field and some of team members, attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Academician Chai Zhifang, from Institute of High Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences. Meng Xianping, Director General of the Bureau of Planning of NSFC, declared the approval of the program. Professor Wu Wangsuo, Yao Ze’en, Li Gongping and Lan Changlin and project technical director delivered reports on the framework, technical support, implementation and management plans respectively. The experts from China Academy of Engineering Physics, China Institute of Atomic Energy, Tsinghua University, Peking University and other institutes had heated discussions on every detail and proposed constructive opinions and suggestions.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Wu Wangsuo, on behalf of the project team, expressed that the research proposal, procedure and management would be further adjusted and improved based on the opinions and suggestions from the experts to ensure the success of the program. School of Nuclear Science and Technology of LZU would also take it as an opportunity to strengthen its discipline construction and talent team construction. Qi Xiaohong, the Secretary of the Party Committee at School of Nuclear Science and Technology of LZU, extended her gratitude to all those offering constant support in neutron generator research.
