On May 27th, Wang Cheng, President of Lanzhou University, met with Jerry Farley, President of Washburn University, USA, and Baili Zhang, dean of the International Department of Washburn University, and other delegates. People present at the meeting were LZU Vice President Pan Baotian and the leaders of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Educational Administration Department, School of Economics, School of Foreign Languages and Literatures and School of Journalism and Communication etc.
During the meeting, the two sides introduced to each other their basic situations, directions of researches, distinctive disciplines and their participation in international cooperation. President Jerry Farley spoke highly of the exchange students from Lanzhou University, referring that he was deeply impressed by their diligence and hard-working. The focus of the meeting includes the training of language teachers, faculty visiting, joint training of students under the “3+2”program, summer school and so on. The two sides reached agreements, both willing to enhance the students exchange program and launch the faculty training and joint training of students programs.
The students from Lanzhou University who used to study as exchange students in Washburn University attended the meeting and discussion as well.
