New Journal of Physics highlights research of Professor Zheng Xiaojing’s team

The research by Academician Zheng Xiaojing’s research team was selected into Highlights of 2013 (see page http://iopscience.iop.org/1367-2630/page/highlights-of-2013) as one of the excellent researches by New Journal of Physics, the world-renowned physics journal (impact factor: 4.06). The independent research paper entitled “Incident velocity and incident angle of saltating sand grains on Mars”, namely Zheng, X.J., Fu, L.T, and T.L Bo, 2013 New Journal of Physics, 15: 043014, was published on New Journal of Physics in May, 2013. Academician Zheng Xiaojing’s research team is affiliated to the Ministry of Education of China’s Key Laboratory of Mechanics on Disaster and Environment in Western China of the School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, LZU. The authors are Academician Zheng Xiaojing, Dr. Fu Lintao, and associate Prof. Bo Tianli. Fu Lintao, the corresponding author, is the graduated doctoral student of Prof. Zheng Xiaojing and won the Nomination Award of the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations.

New Journal of Physics aims to publish all the cutting-edge physical research papers and allows free download, and thus becomes one of the world's most influential open academic journals. The free downloads in 2013 are up to 1.5 million. Highlights of 2013 fall into 12 categories, and the paper by Academician Zheng Xiaojing’s research team belongs to the field of Astrophysics and cosmology. It's worth mentioning that this paper is the only one among the six papers in the field of Astrophysics and cosmology done by the Chinese scholars. Up to now, the paper has been downloaded about 800 times.
