"The Opening Ceremony of the Teaching Practice and Source of Students Base on the Fourteenth Middle School of Lanzhou of the Art Academy of Lanzhou University and the 2015 New Year Concert of the Art Academy of LZU” was held at the Student Center Auditorium of Lanzhou University on December 23, 2014. Li Zhengyuan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of LZU, Guo Qi, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of LZU, Cao Hong, vice president of LZU, leaders of the Fourteenth Middle School and all the staff and students of the Art Academy attended the signing ceremony and watched the performance.
The orchestra consisted of students from the Fourteenth Middle School and teachers and students of the Art Academy of LZU. Three string music teachers played the violin, viola and cello respectively. The concert solo, concerto and folk music concerto were all played by teachers from the Art Academy. A total of 130 people from the Art Academy attended the show. The high-quality professional show of the New Year Concert was presented before teachers and students. The beautiful string music and sonorous brass music showed the solid basic skills of the performers. The faculties of the Art Academy excelled at singing and playing the classical music and the choral repertoire, perfectly demonstrating the artistic features and professional skills.
Before the show, leaders of the Art Academy of LZU and the Fourteenth Middle School signed the contract of “the Teaching Practice and Source of Students Base on the Fourteenth Middle School of Lanzhou of the Art Academy of Lanzhou University" and the listing ceremony was then held. It meant that the Art Academy of Lanzhou University had established another student internship base, and the Art Academy students would have another opportunity to practice teaching. This would greatly improve the teaching ability of students of the Art Academy.
To improve teaching quality and enhance students’ employment adaptability have been the pursuit of the Art Academy in the teaching process as the educational goals. The Art Academy is student-oriented by giving adequate consideration for the future development of students. In recent years, it has established a number of student internship bases. Those not only improve students’ artistic level and ability to serve the society but also enhance their social competitiveness.
