After being officially checked and approved as the independent registered name by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, "Lanzhou University Alumni Association in Guangzhou" was formally founded on March 7, 2015 in Guangzhou with more than four years of preparation. About 200 alumni including Liu Renhuai, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former president of Jinan University, Wang Zhigang, chief strategy consultant of the Wang Zhigang Studio, Liu Xiaofeng, chairman of the Guangzhou Rivers Enterprise Limited, Xiang Bin, president of the Well Lead Medical Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony to witness the important moment, which also marked the listing ceremony of the Well Lead Medical Co., Ltd. founded by Xiang Bin, LZU alumnus of the class of 1988 majoring in Mathematics. Gao Aitian, director of Gansu Provincial People's Government Office in Guangzhou and other officials attended and guided the ceremony. Wang Cheng, president of LZU, Cao Hong, vice president, Fan Baojun, assistant to the president, directors from the President Office and the Alumni Association Office of LZU were also present.
At the meeting, Wang Cheng, on behalf of LZU, expressed congratulations on the foundation of LZUAA in Guangzhou, the successful election of the Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors, and the listing of Xiang Bin’s company. He also expressed gratitude to alumni and friends for their contribution to the development of LZU, and briefly introduced the development and achievements of LZUAA all over the country in recent years.
The meeting voted to adopt the Regulations and Election Methods of LZUAA in Guangzhou and elect members of the Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors for the first time. Liu Xiaofeng, chairman of the Guangzhou Rivers Enterprise Limited, LZU alumnus of the class of 1980 majoring in Biology, was elected as the first president of the LZUAA in Guangzhou.
Before the ceremony, the delegation led by President Wang Cheng was invited to visit the Guangzhou Rivers Enterprise Ltd, the Audiowell Electronics (Guangdong) Co., Ltd, the Well Lead Medical Co., Ltd., and reached agreements of intent in jointly organizing student entrepreneurship competition and student internship.
