The Nature Publishing Group issued the Nature Index 2015 (Asia-Pacific), and listed the top 200 universities and research institutions in the Asia-Pacific region on March 26, 2015. The total number of published papers of China still tops the list in the Asia-Pacific region in 2014. LZU is the 8th largest contributor to the Nature Index overall in China and 24th in the Asia-Pacific region by weighted fractional count (WFC) — a measure of the relative contribution of an institution to the papers it has published, up by 52.4% compared with 2013.
China tops the list specifically in three of its four subjects by WFC, namely: chemistry, physics, earth and environment. In the top 50 institutional contributors, LZU ranks N0.8 in China and N0.15 in the Asia-Pacific region in chemistry, an increase of 67.5% over the previous year, and N0.14 in China and N0.35 in the Asia-Pacific region in Earth and Environment.
The Natural Index 2015 Asia-Pacific rankings are based upon primary research papers published from January 1 to December 31, 2014. It is used to track papers contributed by researchers in natural science journals selected by the independent judging panel of scientists. Relevant results will be published in the latest issue of Nature Supplement - Natural Index 2015 Asia-Pacific.
