On the afternoon of March 13, the second performance of “Enjoy Sunshine and Youth: Schools and Universities Exchange Performance Event of Gansu Province” in 2025, hosted by Gansu Provincial Department of Education, was held at Chengguan Campus, Lanzhou University (LZU). The event was a symphonic wind concert jointly performed by LZU Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of Lanzhou No.14 Middle School.
The performance started with Distant Peaks. The classic piece Ode to the Motherland ignited patriotic fervor among the audience, which brought the atmosphere of the event to a peak. The cheerful melody of Idol resonated with the audience. Additionally, there were also several classic pieces were played such as symphonic poem Song of Forest, Fate of the Gods and others. Finally, the event came to an end with thunderous applause and cheers from the audience.
Founded in 2017, LZU Symphony Orchestra consists of over 70 students from 28 colleges university-wide. In recent years, the Orchestra has actively organized numerous special performances and participated in various wind competitions,securing multiple awards and playing a significant role in aesthetic education. This concert acted as a platform for performance exchange between university and middle school, showing the self-confidence and talents of the students in Gansu Province. Moreover, it injected new impetus into the reform of aesthetic education, fostering the emergence of a dynamic new paradigm characterized by proactive engagement, efficiency, openness, and vibrant vitality.
