On June 17, Chinese Consulate-General to Almaty, together with Ali-Ferrari Kazakh National University, jointly hosted the international seminar entitled as “New Silk Road-Road of Sustainable Development and Common Prosperity”. Over 150 people attended the seminar, including consul general Zhangwei, President of Ali-Ferrari Kazakh National University Mutanov, representative of UN Public Information Bureau Vladmir, the first Kazakhstan ambassador to China Auezov and presidents, experts, scholars, China-funded enterprises, media and students from domestic and such surrounding countries as Kirghizstan.
The seminar was divided into two chambers on the basis of topics. The first chamber was convened to illustrate the “Silk Road Economic Belt” from the political and economic perspective while the second one was organized on the topic of “Culture, Education and Silk Road Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
Chinese teacher Shi Huizhou from the Confucius Institute, on behalf of the institute, delivered a report entitiled “Construction and Development of Kazakhstan Confucius Institute under the Perspective of New Silk Road”, which contained an analysis and illustration on the development philosophy and educational objectives of the Confucius Institute and on how to base on local conditions, serve for the development strategy and provide cultural foundation and intellectual support for “One Belt One Road”.
The Confucius Institute takes enhancing the learning of Chinese language and culture as its mission and establishes a cultural bridge for the friendship, cooperation, understanding and respect among various nations in the world. Taking the construction of Silk Road economic belt as an opportunity, the Confucius Institute will enjoy a broader development space through pursuing the development philosophy of openness, tolerance, mutual respect, cooperation and mutual benefit.
