Silk Road travel of youth from four regions across the straights in 2015 ends

The Silk Road Travel of Youth from Four Regions across the Straights in 2015 ended on July 26. In the 12-day travel covering more than 3000 km, youths from four regions across the straights gained a better understanding of local customs and practices in the northwest China with its long history and profound culture, and they also enhanced friendship during the process.

In September 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping first proposed to build "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "One Belt One Road" during his visit to Kazakhstan, which quickly drew the attention of the whole world to develop political mutual trust, economic integration, and cultural inclusiveness. Located in the hub of the Silk Road in Gansu, the westernmost university directly under the Ministry of Education, LZU with a hundred years of history develops into a cultural outpost of the "New Silk Road Economic Belt". The decade-long "Cross-Strait Students Silk Road Tour" makes LZU a highlight of the Silk Road Culture Communication. The event aims to inherit the Silk Road cultural heritage, promote youth exchanges and practice charity for public welfare, trying to build an internationally-known "Silk Road Youth Tour" series, so the Silk Road culture and Chinese Civilization will take root in Modern Youth students.
