The front-page article "Ordinary Grass Harvests - Documentary of Gansu Minxiang Pasture Ltd. " on Dingxi Daily gave a detailed coverage on wrapping silage forage production of Gansu Minxiang Pasture Ltd.in the past two years, and fully affirmed the important contribution of Guo Xusheng, young professor from the State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agro-Ecosystems SKLAGE (LZU) on August 4, and made further reports on August 6. This is another outstanding example of LZU to carry out school-enterprise cooperation and serve the local economic construction. Another good news is that with the strenuous efforts of Prof. Guo Xusheng, the "First National Seminar on Academic and Industrial Development of Silage and Pasture Preservation" will be held in Dingxi City from September 23 to 26, 2015, which is of great significance for better understanding of Dingxi and even the whole Gansu at large as well as development of husbandry in arid and semi-arid hilly areas of the Loess Plateau.
Professor Guo Xusheng proposed the alfalfa silage development model of "planting a large area of alfalfa as high-quality forage resources by returning cultivated land to grassland in arid and semi-arid hilly areas of the Loess Plateau" and to help Gansu Minxiang Pasture Ltd. carry out the commercialized production of alfalfa silage wrapping by applying the alfalfa silage technology, which served as a strong impetus to the rapid development of alfalfa industry in Dingxi City and made new progress in efficient use and industrialization of alfalfa Dingxi City, Gansu. The development model also served as a typical example for ecological protection and forage industry development in similar areas.
