Prof. Yang Shu from LZU attends 6th Xiangshan Forum

From October 16 to 18, the 6th Xiangshan Forum hosted by China Society of Military Science was held in Beijing National Convention Center. Professor Yang  Shu, head of the Research Institute of Central Asia at Lanzhou University was invited to the meeting and presided over the anti-terrorism sub-forum (II).
This session of forum was participated by delegations of governments and defense sectors from 49 countries, 5 international organization delegations and more than 500 politicians, experts and scholars from home and broad, with the purpose of exploring the concept of Asia-Pacific security mechanism and partnership in co-building Asia-Pacific area, the forum was convened under the theme of “Cooperation on Asia-Pacific Security: Reality and Vision”, including four topics of “Asia-Pacific Security Trends: Opportunities and Challenges”, “Asian Security Concept: Innovation and Practice”, “Asia-Pacific Maritime Security: Risk and Control” and “Regional Terrorism: Causes and Solutions”. The themes of the 7 sub-forums were respectively “Asia-Pacific Security and National Responsibility”, “Building of ASEAN Community”, “Regional Anti-Terrorism Cooperation”, “Maritime Passage Security”, “Code of Conduct in Cyberspace”, “Humanitarian Cooperation”, “Cooperation on Asia-Pacific Security: Role of Think-Tank”. During the plenary meeting on October 17, “anti-terrorism” became the most heated theme discussed by the politicians. They reached a consensus that terrorism had become a global threat and they shall actively enhance world-wide anti-terrorism cooperation.
