ChemSocRev international symposium held at LZU

On September 21, the ChemSocRev International Symposium was held at the Auditorium of the Student Center at Lanzhou University Graduate School. This symposium is co-hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering,LZU and the British Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).  The editors, the editorial board and advisory committee of the Chem.Soc.Rev Magazine and dozens of experts and scholars from within the country and abroad were invited to the activity.

Dr. May Copsey, consecutive editor from the Chem.Soc.Rev. Magazine and Professor Zhang Haoli, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry and associate dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering presided over the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Professor Zhang Haoli extended warm welcome to the experts from all over the world in present and briefly introduced the school and previous cooperation with the RSC. Dr. May Copsey introduced the status quo of the top academic journal Chem.Soc.Rev. He highlighted the great impact of papers from China on the journal’s development with figures.

During the symposium, 11 academic reports were delivered by experts and scholars from the University of Southampton, University of Warwick, University of Leeds, University of Nottingham, Emory University, Nanjing University, Tianjing University, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Peking University, Zhejiang University and Xiamen University. The reports cover the latest research fruit and progress in such fields as chemical synthesis, functional materials, catalysis, self-assembly and atmospheric monitoring etc. Over 300 chemists and graduate students from many universities in Lanzhou attended the symposium and had active interaction with the experts. The reports delivered during the symposium covered various academic topics and presented as a show of the latest progress of chemistry.
