The 2016 LZU Commencement Ceremony was held at the new gym of LZU main campus on the morning of June 27th. President Wang Cheng, Ren Jianjun, secretary of PLA Selective Office at LZU, Zhong Fuguo, deputy Party secretary and secretary for committee for Discipline Inspection, deputy Party secretary Guo Qi and Cao Aihui, Vice-President An Lizhe, Chen Fahu, Pan Baotian, Gao Xincai, Li Yumin, and Cao Hong, President Assistant He Deyan and Fan Baojun, Zhang Yucheng, Director of PLA Selective Office at LZU, and Wang Wen, celebrated alumnus, Executive Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China attended the graduation ceremony. Others participating in the ceremony also included representatives of all previous “LZU Ten of My Favorite Teachers”, officials from LZU related functional divisions, undergraduates of 2016, graduates of 2016, students from affiliated middle school of Academy of Sciences and some parents. The whole ceremony was held by Ms. Cao Hong.
President Wang Cheng delivered his speech titled as "Perseverance and innovation" to all graduates that there are always some things and some values that are worthy of being pursued for life.The first is dream and the third is the spirit of Lanzhou University, namely its motto of "Constantly Improving, blazing Our Own Path”and its study style “Be diligent, realistic and progressive".
