Medical laboratory of Lanzhou University on the International Human Variome Project in China is inaugurated in the conference room of School of Basic Medical Science, Lanzhou University in July 12. People who attend the ceremony include Gao Zhonghua, the chairman of the working commission of International Human Variome Project in China, professor Wang Rui, assistant to the president of Lanzhou University and president of School of Basic Medical Science, professor Xie Xiaodong, the vice-chairman of the working commission of International Human Variome Project in China and other related leaders and experts. Professor Li Min, vice-president of School of Basic Medical Science, presides over the opening ceremony and introduces the development of subjects of School of Basic Medical Science.
Gao Zhonghua shows his thanks to Lanzhou University for its support on the International Human Variome Project in China. He also introduces International Human Variome Project and the development, organization chart, aim, mission and planning of the working committee in China. He points out that the work carried out in the Institute of Genetics of School of Basic Medical Science, Lanzhou University happens to coincide with the work plan of International Human Variome Project in China. He says that we have token serious consideration and comprehensive evaluation before we decide to build the Medical laboratory of Lanzhou University on the International Human Variome Project in Lanzhou University. This will certainly promote the development of precision medicine in the west and in China.
Professor Wang Rui thanks the working commission of International Human Variome Project in China for their support on Lanzhou University. He also thanks the experts and leaders for their advice. He points out that under the general background of the development of precision medicine in China, the establishment of the Medical laboratory of Lanzhou University on the International Human Variome Project contributes to push forward the development of biology, medical science and other related disciplines, and promote the competition abilities of research of related disciplines.
