3rd workshop of cultural heritage for friendly messengers from both sides of the Taiwan Straits closes

Organized by Office of Macao and Taiwan and College of History and Culture, Lanzhou University, the third workshop of cultural heritage for the friendly messengers from both sides of the Taiwan Straits ended on August 2. This activity started from July 20 and lasted for 15 days. Fifty teachers and students from 15 universities of both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated in many activities, such as keeping watch the art treasure of Dunhuang, approaching unique minorities in Gansu Province, visiting miraculous natural scenery of northwest, as well as protecting heritages and making cultural exchanges. Members of the workshop visited Gansu Museum, Dunhuang Research Institute, Dunhuang museum, Mo Kao Grotto at Dunhuang, The Great Wall in Jiayuguan city, as well as the site of Wei-jin tomb murals, attented 3 lectures, took part in the activity of being one-day assistant of Mo Kao Grotto and enjoyed the endless charm of Dunhuang culture. They also went into Yugurs' homes and learned about the existing and development of minority cultures, such as their language, song, dance and diet. Besides, they also visited and investigated some natural landscapes such as Colorful Danxia and wetland park of Zhangye city, Huangyang Reservoir, Tiantishan Grottoes, Yellow River Hoodoo and discussed the development and protection of natural heritage. Through field investigation, debate on cultural heritage and forum on cultural heritage, the workshop set up an exchange platform for the protection of cultural diversity and deepened their understanding and identifying with the containment of Chinese civilization.
