On June 5th, the opening ceremony of the 2016 Academic Conference and the Camp of Talents Exchanges was held in LZU, which was undertaken by the College of Resources and Environment. Wang Cheng, president of LZU and Li Hangwei, vice-president of HKUST attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
Li Hangwei and his colleagues visited LZU for academic exchange during June 3rd and 9th, and attended various exchange forms such as the keynote speech on resources and environment, academic exchanges of innovative talents, camps on resources and environment, lab training, visits and investigations of the Silk Road ecological and cultural environment. Through those activities, they extended in-depth discussion and interaction with students and teachers in this area.
This event improved mutual understandings on coordinated innovations and education in the area of resources and environment between researchers from inland and Hongkong, enhanced relevant knowledge and scientific views of graduate students of the two universities, strengthened the guests’ understanding of the history and culture of China as well as the friendship between the two universities. Those efforts have laid a solid foundation for further exchanges and cooperation in the area between HKUST and LZU.
