Research paper of Doctor Zhang from LZU published in journal SSCI

Recently, Doctor Zhang Weimin from Journalism and Communication department published a research paper on his own: Discourse of resistance:Articulations of national cultural identity in media discourse on the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in China in Discourse & Communication journal in SSCI.

The core problem this research paper analysed and solved is that the impact mechanism of the the media discourse production towards the information stream in the natural disaster situations. The basic judgment of this paper is that the crisis the natural disaster caused is not only about the aftermath of the disaster itself, but also the disorder about the meaning production caused by the information stream shaped by the objective situation.

It is reported that Discourse & Communication is an important SSCI journal in international communication field and a professional journal, which is authoritative and represents the academic frontier in media discourse research field, and the chief editor is Teun van Dijk, an authoritative scholar in media discourse research field.

Doctor Zhang Weimin was graduated from journalism and communication department of LZU in 2010, when he got his master degree, he stayed in school to teach after graduation. He studied in Sandstone university—university of Adelaide, which is one of the G8 in Australia from October, 2010 to March, 2015 and got his PhD.(PHD, mass communication)
