About 500 students from all over the world came to Lanzhou and began their study at Lanzhou University in Sept. 2016. Lanzhou University heartily welcomed all youth who know China, love China and treat China friendly to be new members of this big and inclusive family.
This year, Lanzhou University enrolled 168 international students supported by Chinese Government Scholarship Program and Confucius Institute Scholarship Program, among whom there are 17 doctors, 86 masters, 23 undergraduates and 42 Chinese language students and general advanced students. During the enrollment period, Lanzhou University set the service station at Zhongchuan Airport for international students and arranged the leaders from overseas students’ union to organize the airport pickup. At the service station, there were also school workers working at the spot for the convenience for foreign students to go through their admission procedures. Moreover, Life Guidance for International Students in China helped students abroad to quickly get familiar with the new environment and devote themselves to their new life.
At the beginning of this year, School of International Cultural Exchange employed new overseas student management information system where freshmen registration module improved, which provides much convenience for foreign students to get accustomed to their study and life at Lanzhou University.
Nowadays, Lanzhou University has about 500 international students from 62 countries and regions. They not only study Chinese language and professional courses here, but also attempt to know more about Chinese culture. They have been the veritable cultural ambassadors since they construct a bridge between Lanzhou University and other countries in the spheres of culture, education and academy by their own efforts.
