On the evening of September 12th , the singing contest of the freshmen of Lanzhou University in 2016 was held in front of the Kunlun Hall in Yuzhong campus. There were many spectators at the contest, including Cao Hong, the vice-president of Lanzhou University, Ren Jianjun senior colonel, the vice director of the working group of national defence education towards students in Lanzhou University, and all the freshmen. Twelve companies participated in the competition. Their repertoires consist of two songs, one is the school song of Lanzhou University—The Alma mater of Gansu College, and the other is a song selected by themselves.
On this ambitious show, scarlet banners wave with the rhythm of the music. The songs are lively and magnificent. Every company shows its own characteristics.
