Lanzhou University (LZU) held a cultural experiencing summer camp for Geogia students on 17th, August, starting a splendid two-week journey to experience Chinese culture for students from University of Georgia, Free University of Tbilisi City, Tbilisi State University, and Confucius Institute at Free University of Tbilisi City.
School of International Culture Exchange, LZU scheduled series of activities in Lanzhou City and Xi’an City, including three parts: classes and seminars on Chinese language and culture, traditional cultural experience and visits.
In the classes of Chinese language and culture, teachers designed many situational topics so that students could actively participate in role play and express themselves freely. In the class of traditional cultural experiencing, foreign students were highly motivated to make china.
In Lanzhou, these students visited Gansu Provincial Museum and tasted city view. In Xi’an, they paid a visit to ancient Royal Family Parks, grand Shaanxi History Museum and the 8th World Wonder—the Terra-Cotta Warriors. These abundant cultural experiences played an important in foreign students’ journeys.
There is a saying, “the friendship of nations starts with people-to-people exchange”. Through the summer camp, students from University of Gergia have further understood Chinese people and Chinese culture and deepen friendship with Chinese teachers and students. For them, China is no longer a coordinate on maps and the long history, grand culture, friendly people and beautiful view of China will be shared to their families and friends. Furthermore, these students expressed their will to study Chinese well and return to China one day.
