From August to September, at the invitation of Academician Chen Fahu, Professor Farhad Khormali from Gorgan University of Iran visited LZU for fifty days and offered summer courses about soil micro-morphology for our graduate students.
During his visit, Professor Farhad Khormali conducted deep discussions with Academician Chen Fahu and reached a consensus on the collaboration of training graduate students jointly, exchanging graduate students, and studying climate change of Central Asia. They talked about many things, including holding the International Loess Conference in 2017 which will be organized by Gorgan University, giving further support on vice-professor Wang Xin and Dr. Wei Haitao’s research project, publishing impressive achievements jointly, declaring international coordinating projects jointly and establishing English magazines corporately.
Professor Khormali offered a 36-hour course named soil micromorphology for physical geography majors.
