Prof. Paul Thomassin from Canada McGill University, Prof. David Kemp from Australia Charles Sturt University, and Director David Michalk from Orange Agricultural Institute, DPI NSW Australia visited Lanzhou University on April 6th, received by LZU vice-president, Pan Baotian.
During the meeting, Mr. Pan introduced to guests the basic conditions, prepondrant disciplines and foreign exchanges of LZU. He expressed that LZU attached great importance to the cooperation with high-level universities in the world. By improving the existing talent-introducing platform, LZU strives to attract more outstanding foreign experts into its pool, so as to bring its advantages and distinctive disciplines into full play. Hence, it is LZU’s expection to have three professors recommend first-class foreign experts to teach and further their researches in LZU.
The three experts all gave academic reports in Lecture Hall , Biye Building: Prof. Paul Thomassin reported on “Research and development in Canadian agriculture and food system”; Prof. David Kemp on “Improving livestock production”; and Doctor David Michalk on “Overview of Australian agriculture production and research funding model”.
The reports were presided by Prof. Hou Fujiang and Prof. Shen Yuying from School of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology, and participated by teachers and students from the above schools.
