Invited by Prof. Wang Suomin, deputy dean from college of Pratacultural Science and Technology, Prof. Abdul Waheed, director of Pakistan COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Sahiwal Campus, visited LZU during April 4th and 7th. On April 6th, Pan Baotian, vice president of LZU, met Waheed and his colleagues at the Guest Room in the Yifu Science Hall, and awarded him the letter of appointment for guest professor.
During the meeting, Pan introduced general information and advantage disciplines of LZU to the visitors. He pointed out that China and Pakistan enjoy profound friendship, and hoped that on the basis of research collaboration, LZU and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology should extend students’ communication, and strengthen cooperation on student cultivation and discipline construction. In the meantime, he advocated to encourage scientific researchers in related fields to apply programs of international cooperation and accelerate the construction of joint labs.
In turn, Prof. Waheed introduced basic information of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, as well as the history and advantage disciplines of the university, such as computer science. He also expressed his willingness of extending cooperation with LZU, and hoped that cooperation between the two sides could extend from pratacultural science to other fields. On the basis of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, and according to the content of cooperation, he hoped that both sides would sign concrete agreement and hence push forward pragmatic cooperation.
