Professor Wang Rui granted with Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation’s STIA

On the afternoon of 21st October, Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation granted the winners awards in Beijing. Professor Wang Rui from LZU has won the Science and Technology Innovation Award(STIA) this year.

Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation is a Chinese non-government organization founded on 30th March 1994 jointly by financial industrialists Mr. He Shanheng, Mr. Liang Qiuju, Mr. He Tian, and Mr. Li Guowei with 400 million HK dollar. The foundation’s aim is to award Chinese scientists with outstanding achievements, to respect knowledge and talents, to promote a healthy environment for scientific researches, and to motivate scientists to rise to the height of science and technology. Science and Technology Achievement Award, Science and Technology Progress Award, and Science and Technology Innovation Award are the three prizes provided by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.

Professor Wang Rui is the distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars. He leads Changjiang Scholars innovation team for “Polypeptide Drugs” research in Ministry of Education. With the continual support of “Key and new drug discovery” National Key S&T Special Projects for polypeptide drugs and of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) key projects, Professor Wang and his team have dedicated to the research and solution of the Key S&T problems of polypeptide drugs’ discovery for nearly 30 years, making great achievements with special and international influence. Their results also have raised the level of polypeptide drugs’ discovery in China. Professor Wang has obtained 32 state patents and issued more than 370 papers in SCI as an corresponding author. His papers have been cited by SCI for more than 7000 times and his H index is 44. His research results have been cited by Nature and highlighted. He himself has been selected as Elseriver Most Cited Researchers in China for two years in succession.
