From February 10th to February 18th, the 6th Greenhouse Gas and Animal Agriculture Conference (GGAA 2016) co-sponsored by New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Center and The University of Melbourne , was held in Melbourne. More than 300 scientists, entrepreneurs and government administrators from more than 30 countries such as China, America, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and Australia attended the conference, discussing the problems around 8 subjects like the new progress of the emission reduction of domestic ruminant, the improvement of methane and nitrous oxide measuring technology, and the global vision and policy.
Dr. Yan Tianhai, “Cuiying Honors Chair Professor” of LZU College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology and researcher of British Agricultural Food and Biological Science InstitutionInstitute, together with Dr. Chen Xianjiang and experimentalist[the experimentalist] Chang Shenghua, took part in the conference. They made an introduction about the research results of greenhouse gas emission of pastoral agriculture system in Loess Plateau, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and northwest arid regions of China. And they attended 5-day special topic training held by Australia Cow Research Centre about“SF6 and metabolic chamber measuring technology for livestock’s greenhouse gas emission”.
