Funds for introduction of foreign intelligence grew to a new record in 2016

In 2016, our funds for the introduction of foreign intelligence approved by the Ministry of Education and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs reached RMB¥8.37 million. Since 2011, Lanzhou University has obtained a year-to-year increasing fund for the introduction of foreign intelligence, with an average annual growth rate of 9.9% (see Figure 1),and has received RMB¥40.41 million from the Ministry of Education and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs for the introduction of foreign intelligence.

In the past six years, the quality and quantity of our introduction of foreign experts have continued to rise. In 2015, our school employed 813 foreign experts, who are distributed in 27 colleges (laboratories) of our school. Among them, there are nine academicians, one expert of "one thousand foreign experts", 691 professors, associate professors and doctoral degree winners. Dr. Phil Rolston, expert of ley farming from New Zealand, received the annual award of International Science and Technology Cooperation in 2014. This was the first time when a scientist from our province cooperated inwon this award.

The declaration of 2017’s introduction of foreign intelligence will start in the middle of June, 2016. This year, our school will focus on supporting especially the project of "Introduction of Overseas Young Talents Introduction Program", "One Belt One Road Joint Research Project along the Way" and "Construction of the Platform for Induction of Intelligence"t. Organizations  and individuals who have intention to apply for these projects should pay immediate attention to the notice issued by the International Department.
