Thomson Reuters released the newest ESI on March 10th, 2016, and LZU ranked 539th globally in terms of the citation frequency among the top 20 in domestic higher institutions. 12 disciplines of LZU in total ranked the top 1% in ESI, including chemistry, physics, material sciences, earth sciences, plant zoology，mathematics，engineering，biology and biochemistry,environment and ecology, clinical medicine, medicine and toxicology and agricultural science. Among the 12 disciplines, chemistry ranked the top 1‰ globally, marking the first successful attempt for LZU in this regard.
For now, there are only 15 universities in China who attained the same achievements as LZU in respect to the chemistry discipline.
