During Oct. 28th to Oct. 30th , Prof. Tanaka , deputy director of Institute of Multi-material Science of Tohoku University, Prof. Sato and Prof. Yin Shu , visited Lanzhou University (LZU) and conducted academic exchanges here, with accompany of Zhang Yuansong, Education Consul of Embassy of China to Japan.
During the meeting, Pres. Wang Cheng introduced the history of LZU,its preponderant disciplines and goal of development. He pointed out that LZU has maintained a rather good cooperative relationship with Tohoku University. Teachers and students of both sides communicate frequently with regards to academy, and thus two universities are closely connected. In view of the favorable basis of cooperation, Pres. Wang Cheng expressed his hope that Institute of Multi-material Science of Tohoku University could make further exchanges with LZU’s corresponding schools by jointly applying for research projects, so as to solidify the friendly relationship between the two universities.
Prof. Tanaka briefly introduced the research achievements of Institute of Multi-material Science and material science of Tohoku University, and presented current research of Tohoko University on interdisciplinary studies of material science and medical science. Meanwhile, he expected that Tohoko University, on the basis of the close relationship with LZU could develop more cooperation in other related disciplines, such as medicine, agronomy and pharmacology.
The visiting mission aimed at discussing with LZU the issues of co-establishment of material chemistryexperiment center, joint graduate education, joint project application, scientific cooperation, produce-learn-research projects-, and other academic communications.
